Weekly Update December 9-15

Hello Everyone

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, with snow on the ground and lights twinkling on our trees and houses. It is also a busy time for celebrating the season with friends and family. As well, our cadets are looking at the end of their semesters with projects, and exams in the new yare so all of these activities can lead to stress. I ask everyone to please take care of yourselves and pace yourselves, be kind to each other, get lots of rest and enjoy this special time of year with your loved ones.

Our Mess Dinner is this weekend on Saturday December 7. This is a formal dinner where the dress will be our dress uniform worn with a white shirt and black bow tie. If your cadet does not have a white shirt, then their green issued shirt is acceptable. If you do not have a bow tie, we have some at the unit we can loan for the evening but they must be returned at the end of the night. If your cadet has not been issued a dress uniform, please have them wear nice pants and a white shirt (no FTU's). This is also the only time of year when your cadet will not wear their headdress or name tag.

Thank you to the cadets who have volunteered to come in at 1 pm to help set up. Don't forget your uniforms - you can get changed in the washrooms when we are done setting up.

The doors will open for the event at 4:00 pm and the dinner will be held at 5:00 pm. We will need the cadets to help tear down at the end of the evening so please don't rush off. Many hands make light work.
