2818 Weekly Email - December 14 to 24 - 11 days to Christmas!!


Hello Everyone


Our Mess Dinner was a wonderful success! Thank you to everyone who showed up - I hope you enjoyed the evening.


A huge thank you goes out to Greg Turriff and the Support Committee as well as 2Lt McInroy and our decorating elves for everything they did to put this together and make it the wonderful evening that it was. Your hard work is very much appreciated.


Monday, December 16 will be our last training evening for 2024. We will be taking a break until Monday, January 6, 2025 which will be a CO's Parade with the return of your Commanding Officer, Capt Fitzgerald.


Dec 16 will be a fun night for the unit. Lots of fun activities are planned with prizes throughout the night. The dress will be civilian attire with "Ugly Christmas Sweaters" welcomed.


On behalf of the Staff and Support Committee at 2818, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2025. Enjoy your time with your families, travel safe, and enjoy the blessings of the season.


Here are our upcoming events:


Weekly Training:  

Mon Dec 16 - 1800 - 2100 hrs Belleville Armouries. Fun night.

Dress: Civilian sports wear. Christmas Sweaters are encouraged.

Officers - Civilian clothing

CI/CV- Unit golf Shirt with civilian pants

Please bring in any uniform parts that don't fit


Cadets are recommended to bring water bottles if they are to use the new water fountain.


If your cadet is not returning to training this year, please advise and return all uniforms and parts to the corps asap.


Attendance Notification:

If a cadet cannot attend an activity, please call the unit phone number at 613-966-2123 and leave a message on the voicemail.


Fruit Donations:

This free alternative supports our canteen to ensure cadet blood sugars are positive during training. We are asking for volunteers to donate fresh fruit for upcoming training nights. Thank you to those who have volunteered so far. Please let me know if you can assist and I will add your name to the list below:

Dress and Deportment

All cadets are subject to the following instructions and orders:

Please take note of new regulations re hair length (cannot touch collar) and wearing of jewelery.

Dress Instructions - Section 2 Appearance - Canada.ca

Conduct and Discipline - 15-22 – Conduct and Discipline – Cadets - Canada.ca

Please review the Dress Instructions. The new directive will be enforced if you are not in compliance.


Duty

Cadets appointed to duty during weekly training by the Duty Officer and/or the Duty Warrant Officer are required to stay until 2115hrs for clean-up and dismissal by the Duty Officer and/or the Duty Warrant Officer.
